I’ve been looking forward to ushering in 2017 since June of 2016 – LOL! The year in review was full of many surprises - some had me crying tears of joy and others just had me crying☺. Still…
I want to say THANK YOU for such a successful 2016! From The Right Side of My Pillow, The One That Slipped Away, the launch of my Londyn Vasser pen name with two releases under my belt – The Rules According to Gina & My Dangerous Reflection, and finally the release of FEVERISH Unbroken which is currently available at most e-book retailers - you, the readers have had my back, showed up and showed out! THANK YOU just doesn’t seem like it’s enough to show my gratitude.
Now that we’re here . . . in 2017 . . . I’m EXCITED about all the things I’m cooking up for the year. Some of the goals I’ve set are probably similar to yours -
1. Lose weight.
2. Stop drinking soda and drink more water.
3. Read more books.
4. Get more sleep.
5. Get more exercise.
6. Travel more.
I’ll keep you posted to my progress on the personal front.
As far as the LaShawn Vasser Brand is concerned, I have goals and then I have GOALS! I can share one of them but the others are still a work progress.
My brand is EXPANDING! Not only can you find my books at iTunes, Barnes and Noble, Nook, Kobo, BookShout, as well as my own personal website, you can now walk into any Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million (BAM) store and order FEVERISH Unbroken! Soon, they’ll be on bookshelves too. Working on making my more popular titles available soon.
I will be busier than usual this year and I’ll reveal more and more information regarding my upcoming releases and more as the information becomes available! In the meantime…

The legendary Maya Angelou told us in her Masterpiece Phenomenal Women that it’s in the arch of our back, the sun in our smile, the ride of our breasts, the grace of our style that's part of the fabric of who we are. I think I'll add that to my definition of A DANGEROUS WOMAN. She knows the power within her mind, body, spirit, and VOICE. Some are terrified and think she's someone to fear when she speaks life and uplifts another but we know better.
We don't even have to imagine the manifestation of that power because she built a nation with it.
A DANGEROUS WOMAN
Can glance across a crowded room absorbing every bit of energy and nuance without missing a single detail while never letting on she’s noticed anything at all.
Can balance work, relationships and all that life throws her way while refreshing her favorite color of lipstick in a mirror that reflects nothing but poise and polish regardless of circumstances.
Can turn trial into triumph while using her strength to make others strong. She doesn’t boast or is envious; she just strives to be the best version of herself.
Can detox dangerous levels of toxicity from her inner and outer being - even when love turns sour. But, when it's healthy she loves hard...unconditional.
Her presence will either make you run to or away. Like the sun, she's both too hot to touch and yet soothing to the soul. Stand too close and you'll absorb her energy...run away and remain in the darkness.
She may be hard to gaze upon because she will always illuminate your truth. Still, her most powerful weapon is in her smile. Take heart; there are warning signs for your level of danger. You'll recognize it instantly by how much it radiates on her face as it touches her heart and is reflected in her eyes.
This is a DANGEROUS WOMAN - She's secure in her truth and not afraid to live it daily.
Maybe one day I'll write her story.

Happy New YEAR! Whew...can you believe January is almost over and that this is my first blog of the year? I most certainly can't believe it! Well, before I completely wrap up 2015 and move right along into 2016, I have a couple of things I'd like to share (as I write this blog listening to Deniece Williams - Black Butterfly - maybe I'll embed it so you can too).
First, let me say, THANK YOU. You...the readers have made my 2015 absolutely FANTASTIC. From Faith-Her Love Story to CREE to The Storm Series, you've supported my love of romance and allowed me the flexibility to spread my wings & grow as an artist writing stories of beautiful - proud BLACK women.
There is no ride like the one of being an independent author. It's riddled with unbelievable highs and rife with incredible challenges but even on my most difficult days...I hear you all cheering me on, and it gives me that extra boost to write stories that I hope will make your heart sing! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Now, on to 2016...
I will continue to write about falling in love! My heroines are African American women who are sexy, powerful, and intense. Sometimes, that woman has a quiet strength and other times she's a bit more aggressive! My hope is to cover all of us because we are all things in real life ☺!!
